When installing tiles, it is important to consider a 3-5% cutting loss and purchase enough tiles at a time from the same batch to avoid any slight color differences. The recommended surface for tile installation should be clean and smooth, such as a smooth ceramic tiles backsplash, smooth glass tiles backsplash, acrylic wall panel, painted gypsum, wall linoleum, stainless steel, mirror, laminate, or wallpaper (if some corners are peeling, simply peel them off and install tiles over them). Surfaces that are not recommended include oily walls, brick walls, stucco walls, stone walls, unfinished walls (gypsum or plaster), and unpainted plywood.

The temperature of the wall and tiles should be at least around 70°F for 12 hours before installation and 24 hours after installation. This is crucial, as cold walls and tiles will prevent the tiles from adhering properly. During the winter, the wall temperature is usually lower than the room temperature, so it is important to ensure that the walls are warm.

When installing the tiles, make sure to press all grout lines firmly, and try to avoid touching the adhesive side as much as possible. For surfaces that are not suitable for direct tile installation, such as rough surfaces like porous wood, embossed ceramic tiles, or textured wallpaper, it is recommended to use extra spray adhesive or super glue. Not all latex or repainted walls can be installed directly, and in such cases, the 3M Spray Adhesive is recommended.
